Rock N Roll Doo’s charge towards the big Victorian features ramps up when he returns to the races this Saturday night at Tabcorp Park Melton.

Michael Stanley’s emerging four-year-old is one of the headline horses back from a break, with the Group 2 Paleface Adios winner down to line up in the Garrards Pace from barrier three.

Connections bypassed a Queensland winter campaign with Rock N Roll Doo, who was freshened following his last-start victory at Melton on June 25.

That success took his record to nine wins from 25 starts for $118,550 in prizemoney.

He won a trial at Tabcorp Park last week, but will have his work cut out this Saturday night with a quality field assembled for the NR 88-105 event.

Dean Braun’s Hobart and Maryborough cups winner Willie Go West is also back from a spell and will occupy the back row alongside Julie Douglas-trained stablemates Khaki Nui and Ozzie Battler, Jilliby Chevy (Brooke Wilkins) and Bettor Be The Bomb (Basil Dooley).

Off the front with Rock N Roll Doo will be Reactor Now (David Aiken), Mighty Flying Art (Douglas), Western Sonador (Rebecca Bartley/Stephen O’Donoghue), Enchanted Stride (David Miles), Sicario (Brent Lilley) and Yambukian (Andy Gath).

Saturday night’s Melton card will include heats of the Tornado Valley Trot and Matriarch Pace, as well as the Group 3 Alabar Vicbred Championship Final and Group 3 VHRC Caduceus Victoria Sires Classic.
